Amethi. Amethi police on Wednesday busted a gang of inter-district auto-lifters and arrested 2 accused with stolen motorcycles, police said on Wednesday.

Police Superintendent of Amethi Dinesh Singh told media persons in a press conference that a police team led by SHO Jais Bharat Upadhyay and sub inspector Umesh Kumar Mishra arrested 2 accused Karmraj Verma and Matadin Raidas (residents of Maulavi kala-Bahadurpur) and later recovered 6 motorcycles , 3 android phones and a country made pistol with cartridges.
The accused confessed their crime and told police how they used to steal motorcycles from different places (including neighbouring districts Sultanpur and Raebareli) and defaced its number-plates.
Both were booked under 41, 413, 419, 120, 467, 468 and 471 IPC, SP said.
SP also said that all the concerned police cops and officials including Deputy SPs and SHOs are trying to create awareness among people to observe ongoing guidelines issued by government and administration to stop the fast increasing outbreak of pandemic coronavirus disease.
Police asked people to wear masks, maintaining social distancing , avoiding unnecessary movements otherwise to be punished under law.
Meantime a police team led by SHO Kamrauli Sandip Rai and sub inspector Pravin Shukla arrested an accused Vijay Shyam Yadav of village Raghaipur-Ratapur (under jurisdiction of police station Piparpur) who was externed (jila badar) from district for six months.
On other hand Munshiganj police led by sub inspector Pravin Shukla nabbed an accused Ambarish Gupta of korari Hirshah who was wanted under section 363 IPC and was booked under same section.
