New Delhi. Amid the growing uproar of cancellation of the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 due to the COVID-19 epidemic, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has proposed to conduct the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 for major subjects only.
There is very important fact to be noted that CBSE Board offers a total of 174 subjects to Class 12 students, out of which about 20 subjects are considered major. These subjects include: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Business Studies, Accountancy, Economics, Hindi, English History, Political Science and Geography, .
Class 12 students are allowed to select minimum five and maximum six subjects. Four of these subjects are generally considered as major subjects by CBSE Board.
It is learned that the proposals put forward by the CBSE will be discussed in the meeting of the state education ministers and the state education secretaries on Sunday (May 23). Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will preside over the meeting which will also include Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal, Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar and Women and Child Development Minister Smriti Irani.
Under the first option, CBSE has proposed that the examinations for major subjects be conducted in the “current format” and the board will calculate marks for minor subjects on the basis of performance in major subjects.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal has called a high level virtual meeting to take final decision on CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh headed the Meeting and all the state education ministers also attended including Deputy CM of Delhi Manish Sisodia.

Earlier Manish Sisodia interacted with Delhi based school principals and students. After attending the meeting Manish Sisodia Tweeted that Delhi government has demanded the centre to vaccinate all students before the examination.

Meeting continued for 2 hours, starting from 11:30 to 14:30 IST. But no final decision has been declared on conducting the CBSE 12 Board Exam 2021 by the centre.
