Elvis Presley: Baz Luhrmann’s biopic “Elvis” will release on June 24 this year

Elvis Presley, The king of rock & roll is back! The director of the film, known for The Great Gatsby, will show us the birth of the singer as a music superhero, the problems with his manager and his romance with Priscilla Presley.

Elvis Presley dazzled the world by adding sensuality to modern music. Not for nothing is he considered the ‘King of Rock & Roll’ , possessor of unforgettable songs like “Jailhouse Rock” and “Can’t help falling in love”. After 45 years since his death, Warner Bros will release a film about the singer’s life.

The biopic is directed by Baz Luhrmann , known for his work on the series The Get Down and the adaptation of The Great Gatsby. As if that wasn’t enough of a guarantee of the promising outcome, the first trailer gave us a glimpse of Austin Butler’s challenging performance.

Austin Butler, whom we last saw in Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, has had the honor of carrying out such a challenge by putting himself in the shoes of what many still consider the king of Rock n Roll . He is accompanied by Oscar winner Tom Hanks , who plays his mysterious manager with whom he has an intricate relationship, and who contracted COVID during filming in March 2020, he and his wife Rita Wilson being the first celebrities to announce their contagion publicly, at a time when the world was not yet very familiar with the now famous virus.

The film will guide the viewer through a journey of more than twenty years in which the public will witness his rise to fame and accompany him until his loss of innocence and will be released on June 24, 2022 this year and can only be seen in theaters.
