Mimi Trailer: Kriti Sanon’s Unexpected Journey of Mother with Pankaj Tripathi

Trailer of upcoming movies Mimi released on social media on Tuesday and started trending in a big way. The film featuring Kriti Sanon in the title role shows her journey from being an ambitious dancer in a small town to finding out about surrogacy and embracing motherhood wholeheartedly.

Trailer of upcoming movies Mimi released on social media on Tuesday and started trending in a big way. The film featuring Kriti Sanon in the title role shows her journey from being an ambitious dancer in a small town to finding out about surrogacy and embracing motherhood wholeheartedly. Of course it is not as easy as it sounds. The trailer shows the roller coaster of events. From finding an ideal place for Mimi to stay, hiding her pregnancy, dealing with her dramatic parents (Supriya Pathak plays her mother). The circumstances that follow in the next 9 months of Mimi being a surrogate mother are a melting pot of emotions, as is the breakthrough Pankaj Tripathi, like Mimi’s friend, stands by her side through thick and thin and serves well with her witty lines and incredible comic timing. The film, also starring Sai Tamhankar and Manoj Pahwa, is directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan. AR Rahman has composed the music for the film.

Simply put, the trailer makes it difficult for us to wait for the movie to release. Mimi will premiere on Netflix on July 30. Without further ado, take a look at the trailer here:

The filmmaker previously directed her in Luka Chhupi, co-starring Kartik Aaryan. Mimi is inspired by the 2010 Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy, which featured Samruddhi Porey, Urmila Kanitkar, Sulabha Deshpande and Stacy Bee in leading roles. The original film also won a National Award for Best Film in Marathi in 2011.
