Northern Railway installs thermal camera at Lucknow and Varanasi railway stations to prevent spread of coronavirus infection

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh). Northern Railway has installed Thermal camera at Lucknow and Varanasi railway stations, which will automatically measure the body temperature of passengers at entry and exit gates of the premises. Now Railway has taken this unique initiative to stop the spread of coronavirus infection. Advanced technology is being resorted to measure fever of passengers. This state-of-the-art system will provide considerable relief to the railway personnel. Now they will not have to do thermal screening of passengers by standing at the entry and exit gates. During the screening, employees were at risk of coronavirus infection.
Divisional Railway Manager (Lucknow) Sanjay Tripathi says that thermal cameras have been installed at all entry and exit points of both the stations. Now RPF personnel will be able to better monitor the campus through these cameras and along with taking photographs of the passengers, thermal screening will also be more easy.
Apart from this, according to the guidelines of the Government of India regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, effective compliance of social distancing will also be ensured.
