UAE now permitting silver visa holders from India

Silver and gold permit holders from India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh  and Nepal .can now travel to the United Arab Emirates( UAE). However, according to the UAE’s general Civil Aviation Authority, eligible travelers from these countries will have to wear a monitoring and tracking device.

“There are no further restrictions. On the contrary, UAE is now permitting silver visa holders too, apart from golden  visa holders. UAE is now permitting silver visa holders too, apart from golden visa holders. UAE makes you wear a bracelet for the 10 days quarantine. Passengers need to undergo an RT-PCR on the fourth day and then the eighth day. If the results are negative, then they can take off the bracelet and are free to go anywhere.” said a leading charter operator when asked if this mean tightening of norms for visitors especially from India.

According to the GCAA quarantine rules for the visitors from the Indian subcontinent there should be limited movement. In their exact words, “Their movement is limited to the required movement between the hotel and the airport without coming into close contact with persons of the community”.

According to the Emirates website, “Emirates has suspended passenger flights from India effective… until July 6, 2021. Furthermore, passengers who have transited through India in the last 14 days will not be acceptable to travel from any other point to the UAE. UAE Nationals, holders of UAE Golden Visas and members of diplomatic missions who comply with the revised published COVID-19 protocols will be exempt for travel.”

Indian travelers are restricted from entering  until July 6. This restrictions were passed on April 25 due to the increasing Covid-19  cases in India.

UAE has now come up with stricter norms in past couple of days to prevent the spread of the new variant which is creating a havoc in India. In response to this, UAE has barred business jet operators from selling seats to travelers from Covid-19 hotspots.
